I have been a regular visitor to Masala when I visit the town. In younger days lol, I worked next door. I have never been disappointed in the food. In fact, I rarely eat vegetarian food but this place can draw me in simply because the food is that good, despite my normal omni-diet. The service has a...

I was just scrolling through this website because I was looking up another restaurant in Iowa City that didn't get very high ratings, which led me to look up my favorite restaurant here. I am a west coast temporary (two year) transplant that loves good food. To my knowledge, I have eaten at every re...

Only New York can surpass this cuisine. Call ahead for reservations and ask for a window seat. It's in the heart of downtown Iowa City, but just far enough out that it seems as if you're not downtown.

The Linn Street Cafe is the most romantic restaurant in Iowa City. My wife and I dined there last week for our 5th anniversary. Everything was great, my wife loved the scallops and had baileys white chocolate cheesecake for dessert. I had the huge ribeye and the creme brulee both were awesome. W...

The best fine dining restaurant in Iowa City! My wife and I dined at Linn Street for our anniversary, every thing was awesome. She loved the scallops,my ribeye was huge, it was the best steak I have ever had. Our waiter was super friendly and made us feel very comfortable.
The Midtown Family Restaurant has been in a new location for several years, so they are no longer located "midtown" but it is worth a trip if you want to experience a true Midwestern dining experience. The food is good, and hot and cheap. And there's lot of it, including all the usual side dishes. T...

Best DQ in the world - the old fashioned, REAL DQ,old mix recipe, traditional walk-up service, beautiful, historic old neon sign, 50+ years old and in the same family for 4 generations. If Norman Rockwell were still around, this is what he would paint.

Korean food in Iowa City is sadly not abundant, but Popo offers a noodle soup called Jam Bong that should not be missed--it was only available by request for a long time but now has main menu status. The sushi is always fresh and wonderful as well. A really excellent choice and one of my very favour...
On a rare visit to Iowa City, I decided try something different for lunch. While not fantastic, Masala Indian Vegetarian was indeed a new experience, in that it's both vegetarian and Indian, and definitely worth trying. The buffet was, however, very limited with about 3 entrees (not including ri...

The McDonald's on Lower Muscatine Road in Iowa City is convienently located next to the Sycamore Mall, so it's easy to grab a quick bite to eat after a bit of shopping. But use the drive-thru. There are only 2 cash registers inside and the service can be slow. The cashiers keep ringing up orders whi...

My family and I really enjoy our experiences here. The service has always been spot on. The food from soup to main dishes are excellent. Such a variety, we have a vegan a vegetarian and meat eaters in our group and there is something for everyone.

Great place for dessert - $5 per person. Tiny restaurant, intimately packed but not overcrowded. Good international mix of customers, romantic ambience. Friendly staff, homey feel. Plants, bookshelves, windows make up 2 of the walls. Very cozy, good date place.

Good concept for haute-cuisine dining, but poor execution. We ate there with a group of friends. Great food and wine selection. The Prix Fixe 4-course meal menu option is good if you want to taste a little of everything. The service was slow. Our entree order took 1 hour to come to the table for 5...
