Nice, cozy and romantic environment. It is expensive and maybe not quite worth all of it both the service was excellent. I ordered the Lamb Chops which were kind of tiny for the $32 and the potatoes kind of sour but I would definitely visit it again and try a different meal.

We went to Zydeco Way Cafe for the first time today for lunch. LaVaDa is warm and welcoming. They don't accept credit cards yet. We ordered the Etouffee and Shrimp Jambalaya. Both are delicious with huge portions. We asked for seconds on the cornbread, it was awesome. This is a cute little hol...
I love the service, a more friendly place I have yet to find.
Food is quick and fresh
Awesome bulgogi. House fried rice is the bomb. Chicken soup is amazing. Service with a smile. Open until midnight Monday through Saturday. Plenty of Parking in the back. Check out Ichiban Inn Bed and Breakfast next door. A renovated historic log-cabin with a suite that sleeps four. 907-455-9116, 90...

Not really bad, just so mediocre. I can make better breakfast and I am not a cook.
Brisket is good. Sometimes good live music. Good service. Good beer selection. Unfortunately I was served cold ribs several times. They were obviously pre cooked and microwaved to warm up and were not hot to the bone. Side dishe of greens was terrble. Corn bread seems to be package not "home made"...
My wife and I were in Soapy Smith's in September during the Labor Day weekend. We had a great time. Bill was the best waiter anybody could hope to have, giving us a bit of local history while we had our meal. My wife had the crab burger and couldn't have been happier. She said it was the best crab b...
Soapy Smiths restaurant in Fairbanks is a lousy place to eat. The Klondike chicken sandwich was overcooked and was very plain tasting. Even the french fries were over cooked. My wife's sandwich was a turkey sub that was supposed to be on homemade bread. The sub was bland, tough and plain. The servic...
We went there just after the finish of the Irondog race to eat a quick lunch. The interior is decorated with tons of Alaskan stuff memorabilia. Unfortunately they were short-staffed and it took over half an hour for a steak and cheese sandwich with fries. It was one of the priciest items and not ...

It is now called called Asian Bistro to protect the plaintiffs. I travel a lot and pride myself on eating sushi and sashimi at some of the best places on earth. I stopped in after a week of work here in Alaska thinking I might get some fresh fish, if not at least frozen. It was a simple order of sas...
this restaurant is what alaska is all about.. good people, good food, good times.. this place is a reflection of it's owner.. nick is all about family and community.. this guy just plain loves people.. i highly recommend a visit to soapy smith's.. make sure you get the clam chowder.
they have the best clam chowder i have ever ate in my life!
THE OWNER WAS FAB. hE GAVE US A HISTORY OF THE STATE AND AREA. iT WAS OUR LUCKY DAY THAT WE ATE THERE. lOU IN RHODE ISLAND 2007
A group of workmates and I flew to Fairbanks for the day to visit some clients. We asked the cabbie if he could recommend a lunch spot. He did. Went to Soapy Smith's. What a great atmosphere! We were greeted by an incredibly friendly host/waiter who made us feel so much at home. As he brought ...
Good food, very attentive (almost overly friendly) service. The best thing about it is the prices, which are uncommonly low for this sort of food, and they haven't gone up with the inflation of every other restaurant in Fairbanks. Awesome! I haven't had too much of the menu, but the only thing I ...
extremely gooddddddddd
This is the worst Italian dining experience I have ever had. The food was worse than the frozen meals purchased in a vending machine. The Hostess was efficient and seated us promptly but then we sat there for at least half an hour before our server appeared. I could see her talking to another ser...
A wonderful place to go relax and eat while on your lunch break. The service, food and atmosphere is great, and you get back to work on time.
