Ice Me Out is the rare Atlanta restaurant that takes the Philadelphia food canon seriously — not just cheesesteaks, but also Philly-style water ice, the slushy fruit-pulp dessert that's a cousin of Italian ice. The McDaniel Street location is in Mechanicsville, just south of downtown and walkable from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium parking decks on a non-game night. The menu splits roughly into three sections: cheesesteaks on Amoroso rolls (the actual Philly bread), water ice in rotating flavors, and a 'Kitchen' menu of wings, seafood boils, and home-style plates that explains the steakhouse-tier price tier. The 6" classic cheesesteak — thinly sliced steak, sauteed onions, American cheese — is the anchor item, with 12" versions and chicken/shrimp variants on the same template. AJC and Atlanta Eats have included the spot in metro-area cheesesteak round-ups since 2021. Hours stretch late — until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday — making this one of the few legitimate after-hours kitchens in the southwest quadrant.
