We went to The Hollow hoping to get some good catfish and seafood. Being from FL, we are used to eating fresh fish cooked and seasoned well and were hoping to find a really good seafood restaurant. My husband ordered the seafood platter and most of the food had more batter than fish. Even the onion rings were overbreaded. I wanted salmon but they were out of it. Same thing for the sweet potatoe casserole and chocolate brownie for dessert. Overall, the food lacked seasoning and seemed overcooked. Our waitress was helpful and attentive. Still looking for a good seafood restaurant in this area...

I have been going to Catfish Hollow for years and there is no better cole slaw and hush puppies anywhere to be found. My husband and I always share the catfish strips plate so we will have room for the wonderful Strawberry shortcake.

Tonight was the second time I have gone to the Hollow with friends. Both nights was so good it's all we could talk about. The best service and the food was really good. And my friends (pickey!!!!!)and I just might drive back out there with my son just so he can see what the talk is all about. I love these people at the Hollow. Reading some reviews tells me some people do not need to go out to eat. They can be just has happy staying home and complaining. I tell you this place has people working hard to please. As a business owner I know you can't please them all.

I was so excited to be having dinner at The Hollow. That all changed when we started eating. The food was so bland no taste whatsoever. Then I looked around and everyone was old. Have nothing against old people, but the was awful. I will never eat there again.Would have gone to Red Lobster, but we saw roaches the last time we were there and haven't been back. We're very aware of good seafood. Didn't expect The Ritz or anything just some good food.

It's been awhile since I've been because of the name change. When the name changed from Catfish Hollow to just The Hollow I thought that maybe there were new owners or that maybe they changed the menu. To my delight nothing has changed. In fact, it's better. My tables dining experience this past Saturday night included catfish, shrimp, stuffed grouper, and to top it all off, snow crablegs. Everything was great. I've never seen crablegs cooked any better than the way The Hollow served them. My son's stuffed grouper disapeared from his plate so fast that I thought he lost it. The catfish was as good as I've ever had it. Thet were good size and cooked perfect. Take my word for, I will be going back and I recommend that you should too.

I don't know where you people are from, but I've been eating at Catfish Hollow since it opened at their original location in Tyrone. The food is consistently delicious. I have yet to find hushpuppies anywhere else that measure up to their deliciousness (Bubba Gumps are great, but are ordered as an appetizer). My mouth is drooling just thinking about the meal I usually have: a dozen fried shrimp, baked potato, slaw and hushpuppies, and sweet tea...I'm entitled to another side, but never get it because it's too much food! I bet the negative comments are from Northern transplants who wouldn't know good Southern food if it hit them in the face! I gave the ambience category 3 stars because this is a family oriented fish house...it's not the Ritz and shouldn't be held to that standard.

I dined today at Catfish Hollow with a friend of mine who haf bragged on the restaurant for months. The service from our server was very good, however when the owner (as we found out later who she was) came to our table to ask how everything was, we said "fine, but could we have more hushpuppies"? The smile on her face instantly turned into a scowl and she glared at us and went to get our hushpuppies. She brought them to us without saying a word and she glared again at us and walked away. I felt offended at her rudeness and I asked her as she was walking away if I owed her any extra money for the extra hushpuppies and she just shook her head no but continued to have the same sour look on her face and did not say anything else.

The food was only average. The catfish was on the greasy side. My fried okra did not taste much like okra, it tasted like fish. I suppose the okra is fried in the same grease, thus the fishy taste. The sweet potato casserole was too sweet for me. It had the taste of candied yams which are too sweet for my taste. The slaw was OK, but it was watery and runny. The ice tea was very good. Overall, I was disappointed as my friend had bragged on this place so much. I know that every dining experience can't be great, but this sure was a letdown after my expectations were so high. The owners attitude towards our party was very unfortunate. I doubt I will ever go back. Hopefully your experience will be better than mine.
