About Spicy Hill Restaurant
Spicy Hill is a Jamaican restaurant on Tara Road in Jonesboro, the Clayton County corridor south of I-75 where the Atlanta metro thins out toward Henry County. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and a profile in Jamaicans.com, the kitchen was opened by brothers Alrick and Desrick Smith, who grew up together in Clarkstown, in the Trelawny parish of Jamaica. The restaurant takes its name from the Spicy Hill district where their mother's family is from. The Smiths spent more than two decades in U.S. kitchens and hospitality before deciding to open their own place — the AJC reports they were furloughed during the early COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, used the time to scout locations through that fall, and ultimately landed in Jonesboro.
The AJC feature singled out the jerk chicken — described as "seriously good" and served with buttery fried plantains, rice and peas, and sautéed cabbage — as the dish to order. Beyond jerk, the menu runs the full Jamaican lineup: oxtail, curry goat, brown stew chicken, fried snapper. The restaurant operates a delivery channel under the alternate name "Trelawny Fusion Kitchen" on Uber Eats and DoorDash, again referencing the parish — useful to know if you're searching for it by name on those apps.
The room has a bar and rotates live music nights. Hours run Tuesday through Sunday with closes at 10 PM Tuesday-Thursday, 11 PM Friday-Saturday, and 8 PM Sunday; closed Mondays. Three Restaurant.com deal tiers stack up to $50 off $100+, which lines up with a group dinner where the bar tab is part of the math.

I will never eat here again. As I sipped my beverage I noticed lipstick stains on the side of the cup. The waiter who nerved introduced himself jokingly said that GE thought he grabbed it from the clean pile. The manager

Best pizza I have ever eaten. I come from Tennessee once a month just to eat at Graffiti's Pizza. I wish there was a pizza place like Graffiti's near my home. I would probably eat there every day.
