Piassa Restaurant & Mart takes its name from Piazza, the historic central neighborhood of Addis Ababa, and operates as a combined Ethiopian restaurant and grocery on North Decatur Road in Scottdale, just east of the Atlanta city line and inside DeKalb's wider Ethiopian-restaurant cluster. The menu covers the canon: doro wat (chicken stew in berbere, garlic, onion, and spiced butter, served with boiled eggs and chicken legs over injera), kitfo (fresh ground lean beef with spiced butter and mitmita, available raw, medium, or well done), tibs in several preparations, vegetarian combinations, and a few seafood plates. The mart side carries Ethiopian spices, coffee, and cultural goods — useful if you want to take berbere home after the meal. Reviews single out the special kitfo and the warm welcome from the owner; some delivery-order complaints about overcooked lamb and dry injera show up, which is a common Ethiopian-takeout problem since injera doesn't travel well.
