My wife and I eat out at restaurants A LOT !!! She is Cuban born but is really from Miami and I have traveled the entire US many times. We at at Meson Caribe on 1/10/2010. The music was a bit too loud but I understand the Latin community loves their loud music. It was loud but enjoyable. The food was fantastic. I had grilled Lobster tail, stuffed plantains (stuffed with picadillo). For you Gringo's and Gringa's that's like REALLY GOOD sloppy joe fixin's. Small salad occompanied my meal with a dressing that was indescribably AWESOME tasting. My wife had the typical pork, rice and beans ensemble. The service was quick and very friendly. I tipped the waitress very well because she deserved it. My wife ordered a cranberry vodka and I swore there was no alchohol in it but believe me... there was. I couldn't believe how well prepared the drink was because they must have used some really good vodka as the typical medicine taste was not present. Later that evening live music ensued. It was quite enjoyable and a departure from the bland food, atmosphere and patronizing pleasantries you'll find at junkets like the Green Iguana or anyplace at the international mall. Certainly better than any chain joint like Chili's or TGIF or other. Now it was no Mojito's but all in all it was really good.
I would encourage you to round up a number of friends and family when you dine at the China Yuan. The servings are very generous - more than enough to share as you rotate the giant "lazy Susan" in the table's center. This also affords the opportunity

Now called Meson. I do not recommend under any name. Service is just plain terrible. Can't make anything beyond a Rum and Coke and Beer.
