My husband took us out for my birthday, there were 7 of us 2 were children. The restaurant had 4 tables with people at them, it was a Thur. Evening at about 6:15. We were seated right away, we ordered our drinks. It took 15 min to get them. They were not at all busy. then it took another 15 min to be able to order. Then we ordered appetisers but 15 min later we got our salad, then our bread then the homemade potato chips...save your money do not order them you don't get alot for the amount of money, and you should get them befor the salad and bread. We ordered a variety of foods when it came it was ice cold. I ordered the filet mignon med, it came raw. Another family member ordered the salmon it smelled so bad he couldn't eat it and had to return it. We purchased a $50 off coupon from restaurant.com for $4 but even after our waiter took off the $50 the bill was $137. They added gratuity and the waiter wasn't even sub par. There was nothing good about this experience. We used to go here all of the time but I think it's new management or owners it is not good at all.
We will never go back, even if we got all free food.

We sampled the Guinness stew today and ate fish & chips and corned beef and cabbage. Truly fantastic! Our server, Jake, was very good!

Don't know what happened. This used to be some of the best Italian food in the area. This evening the 'oven baked' eggplant parm, was deep fried in fish beer batter and nuked to melt the cheese. What little sauce there was barely covered the dried pasta, let alone the deep fried fishy eggplant. After 16 years, sadly we won't be back. Slimy lettus in the salad, they no longer know what baked means, and we both have lingering indigestion. Dismal experience.

Had dinner here Saturday night with a group of friends. Best Itailian food I ever had!!! Food portions were huge, you definitely get your moneys worth. Service was great, not something you always get when you are with a large group. This is definitely a little taste of heaven in Troy.

We ate there last night for the first time in several years. I could tell immediately that something changed. The bread was plain rolls, the olive oil was just heated oil, no flavor. The veal dish was tasteless and I don't believe it was veal at all. The steak was tender with no flavor. The sauce was terrible with a hint of "mint" of all things. I would not recommend this restaurant at all. They have cheapened up the menu; however, the prices remain high.

We had a bad experience at Franco's a couple of years ago and never went back until last week. We heard they had new owners and a new chef so we decided to give it another chance. We are so glad we did. Our experience was much better, the food was excellent. The tomato basil soup was to die for and the salmon special was excellent. We can't wait to go back!

I have enjoyed dining at Franco's for several years (as recently as last week). The food has always been excellent (especially the garlic bread)! When busy, the service has been a little slow, but that's typical of any restaurant.
You'll get a good value for your money. I highly recommend it.

I had been here some 10 years ago with my dad, needless to say it was NOT memorable. Now LOTS of years later my husband and I decided to give it a try with a coupon, service was soooo slow, non attentive, soup was ok, dinner was horrible it tasted like someone just opened a can of tomato sauce and warmed it, then tossed it over the pasta. So I brought it to the managers attention, she asked that I get another dish with QUITE a bit of difficulty, at this point my husband left our bottle of wine and went outside, I told her I did not care for anything else. She then brouhgt me the bill, with not a bit of discount, mind you I had not eaten but one bite of this so called food. So I paid for a 15.00 plate of franco american. Just wrong. To sum it all up in my opnion this place really sucks DO NOT waste your money, go to Olive Garden.

I was very excited to try this restaurant. However, it was less than great. The service was fine but the food wasn't all that good! For the price the quantity should have been doubled. The Olive Garden actually has better tasting food. Huge disappointment!

Went there about one month ago. Service was very good and Italian food was on par with most other Italian restaurants. Think we will try somewhere else though.

We've been dining at Franco's Cafe for 15 years. Although we have a variety of meals there, I've never tasted a better Filet Mignon for the money. It melts in your mouth. My husband and I love the Italian side dishes. You won't be disappointed
