No, this is definitely not a fancy restaurant but I haved lived in Concord most of my life and IMO, Troutman's has the best tasting BBQ in town.
The ambience and overall cleanliness of R&R and Gary's far surpass Troutman's but the food doesn't nor does the service.
Troutman's on Church Street is just a good old Southern barbecue dive and a Concord institution!

I've lived in Concord all my 52 years. This is the place where all the locals eat. You know what they say about good food...."Go where the locals go if you want the best food in town!" Our experience was fantastic. It is not the expensive "Saturday night Out-to-dinner" but the food is fantastic....Better than Gary's and R&R's together. I highly recommend this place for good food.

Absolutely the best breakfast I have ever eaten. So, good in fact I went out of my way to eat here for lunch too. I was not disappointed. The owner was the fastest grill cook I have ever seen. Too bad he's retiring.

My father is from Kannapolis, and he loves this place, took me to it and I loved it too. I really think that Troutmans is a quality restaurant. It is not a Gary's, but it has some great BBQ!

Food was absolutely the worst BBQ I have ever had. I will not return to this establishment. Filthy inside, BBQ was all fat and it was cold. Terrible experience.

Troutman's BBQ is not that great. It has too much fat. R&R Bar-B-Que on Pitts School Road has the best BBQ around!!! I also love their desserts.

OK Bar BQ, not Lexington Quality or Gary's for that matter. Better drive 10 miles north at least. Another possibility is R&R on Pitt School Rd.
