While Sonny's food is overall pretty good, it is not the good old fashioned Eastern NC barbecue that's popular in this area. Definitely not my choice when I want barbecue. Has a real chain restaurant feel to it but it's super clean and has a cheerful ambience. Service is good, value is so-so.

My husband accidentally LEFT HIS TIE at this restaurant. They refused to return it even though we offered to send them a FED EX airbill and pay for the return. We live 2 hours from this restaurant and they refused. Fed EX even comes to pick it up . They didn't have to do anything but let us know when Fed Ex could pick it up and still refused to return the tie. The Manager wants us to drive 4 hours to retreive the tie. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR FOR ANY ESTABLISHMENT. Even though the food was good and the service by Christina was excellent we would NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE.

Absolutely the best breakfast I have ever eaten. So, good in fact I went out of my way to eat here for lunch too. I was not disappointed. The owner was the fastest grill cook I have ever seen. Too bad he's retiring.
