About The Whistling Oyster

Broadway is the main thorough fare through Fells Point and like many of the taverns and shops in the colorful neighborhood, The Whistling Oyster operates from the ground floor of a rowhouse.

The bar was featured on America's Most Haunted Places. An actor portrayed the apparition of the African- American dressed in colonial garb often seen sweeping and cleaning up after hours. To the consternation of the owner the faithful phantom kept a careful eye on an ash bucket and moved it from room to room.

Another wraith inside The Whistling Oyster is a shadowy figure ascending a staircase that no longer exists. Workers and patrons alike have clearly heard the sound of the disembodied footsteps running up and down the flight of stairs that accompany his eternal climb.
