Diner reviews of The Prime Cut Meats & Eats
A diner from Bakersfield, CA
May 31, 2011
Went in with a gift card and we both browsed the menu looking for something to ease our appetites. Upon taking our drink order, I asked the server, Brittany B., if they served any speciality non-alcoholic beverages. When she answered no, Ii asked if she had anything else that wasnt Sierra Mist like strawberry lemonade or something else that didnt have caffiene or alchohol such as orange soda (I'm pregnant). She again replied no, so I stuck with my bad tasting tap water, and a few minutes later watched her deliver a Minutemaid Pink Lemonade to another table.
Upon ordering, I chose a tri tip sandwich half order which I thought would pair wonderfully with the sauteed mushrooms they charge an extra $1.99 to add. I chose salsa instead of bbq sauce because I thought it would go great with the mushrooms and when she asked if i would like to add anything else I asked for a side of mayo and a slice of cheddar cheese. Shortly thereafter, server Brittany B. returned and stated that she could not place the tri-tip half order since I had ordered "all that extra stuff" on it. She explained that I would have to make a full order. Disappointed, (I can't eat that much with my growing belly) I agreed.
After a 20 minute wait for our food, she delivered our sandwiches and stated that they were out of mushrooms so the full tri-tip sandwich i was forced to order was indeed, NOT what I ordered, furthermore, she still had to charge us for a full because she did have the slice of cheese and side of mayo added, which apparently is impossible to order as just a half tri tip sandwich..
The final straw was when she handed us our bill and she charged us not only for the full sandwich (I only ate half) but the price of the sauteed mushroom remained on the ticket as well. We had the bill fixed and jammed out of there faster than pigs running from slaughter! Very dissapointed in the lack of flexibility from the cooks on a half order, as well as the service and particularly server Brittany B. for screwing up what might have been a perfect lunch elsewhere.
