Bakersfield Restaurant Guide

The most incredible Italian dining experience in town. A romantic ambiance where the staff was very attentive and helpful. A family owned and operated restaurant well worth any price. I was most impressed by the fact that the owner Nancy and her daughter Lillian socialize with the patrons as if they were family without any pretention. Definately a place I will return to for many years to come.

Have heard steaks are good but I can go to a steakhouse for a steak. We had eaten here several years ago on a couple of occasions and been very disappointed but decided to give it another try, Big Mistake. Unfortuneately nothing has gotten better. Our waiter was unattentive and only came back to check on us 20+ minutes after dropping plates now he had passed by several times but turned his head so he did not look at us. I had ordered a fish dish which was very overcooked and had no flavor. We had to grab a hostess to take plate. The replacement with another special was no bettter, my companion ordered the seafood portifino which had very little flavor. I ended up adding Balsalmic vinegar to the salad, brushetta which had very little topping and was served on thick slices of sour dough to have any flavor. The ambience was non-existant or that of a coffee shop cannot understand how it was rated the most romantic. To top it off there is a large sign outside door saying to try their homemade Tiramisu but they had run out.

We went in for a nice romantic birthday celebration and we were charged for such a dinner but would have been happier with Chef Boyardee. The only bright spot was the service assistant who was covering the entire restaurant and still trying to help guests/

While it is an Italian restaurant the steaks are the best in Bakersfield. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The food is good - especially the pizzas, but the service is terrible. I will say that I have only done carryout, but the promised times have never been kept, and usally run about double.
