I eat here every time I'm in Waterloo, about every 2 years. The food is spectular, and the prices are Midwest-reasonable. Obviously a well managed place!

I grew up in Waterloo and the special occasion restauraunt was always Brown Bottle. Whenver we go back to visit, the first place we dine at is the Brown Bottle. Not only is the food great, but the history of the restaurant is cozy!
Love this restaurant! A hidden secret sooo worth seeking out! Extremely friendly atmosphere and super good fish! You'll be a regular before you know it!

Chuck and Joanne Landau are part of a family with family-owned restaurants around Waterloo & Cedar Falls, Iowa. This Brown Bottle, in downtown Waterloo, treated me grandly with exceptional food preparation and service. The menu is primarily Italian, based on maternal recipes in the Landau family (though I had the amazingly tender prime rib). A beautiful spot in a beautiful old building, and a diner should notice that he is being treated most graciously.

i tool my girlfriend on her first date at the Brown Bottle and i thought that it was the most wonderful Italian resturaunt ever that i have been to. as i have indicated on my ratings you can know what i thougt of various different aspects of this establishment. but i must say that they played wonderful music while we ate and talked in the background
