After moving our son into an appointment to attend USM in fall, we discovered this restaurant about 1 block away. We made several return trips for the brisquette - it's wonderful.
I went here with my husband while he was stationed in Camp Shelby. The bbq is ok. I like mine more hot and after a ton of hot sauce I could eat it. My husband had the plate with mixed meats. I loved his. Would I eat another BBQ sandwich there ? no ..

Leatha's is a Hattiesburg Staple. Featured on the Food Network and Travel Channel it's a unique dinning experience. Ms. Bonnie (daughter of Mrs. Leatha) is a jewel, wonderful people. The BBQ is above average and has a very sweet brown sugar sauce.

Sticks has good BBQ, not great BBQ. Their lunch buffet is a good deal for the money. They have good down home sides. You can't say anything bad about the place, it's above average meats and below average sauce.

This is one of my favorite places for lunch or a casual evening meal. They also cater and custom smoke/fry/etc meats. I recently had a turkey fried and it was perfect! Strick's has so much good food... just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Good down-home comfort food served on plastic/paper/foam just like it should be. Two or three BBQ sauce choices. Beef, chicken, pork, turkey, "Its all good." If you are on a diet stay away, its too good to eat just a little. I'll be there tomorrow for lunch!!--- Oh... and nobody gets 4 stars but Momma :)
