Fantastic, friendly, and excellent food. They have it all, congenial bar, late night dancing, and delicious food prepared by chef Fabian Pauta.
I have visited Country Kitchen on many occasions and have never been disappointed... the fried chicken is out of this world..I can truly say this one of the only true examples of down home cooking left in NYC...and you can also enjoy a great Karaeoke show there every Friday!!
I consider Country Kitchen one of the "SOUL FOOD" restaurant, and my favorite, place to eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!!!

Therre's no other Soul Food Restaurant that really speaks to the palate as Country Kitchen. The food is truly a combination of southern cuisine and the essence of Soul. I've eaten at "Sylvia's", Amy Ruth but I keep coming back to Country Kitchen

The only good experience in Red Crab was a pleasant and cosy interior and nice service.
But this is it. Very expensive for the quality offered.We were waiting for more than an hour for our entrees to arrive (given that we were the only customers in the restaurant!), and New York steik (a $28 dish) ...

so happy to see this diner open.. they have completely renovated the space. it has a great location. tree lines Columbia St out front and a great garden space in the back. the interior is clean and fresh with great steaming coffee cup cut outs on the chairs. the service is great, the food varied...
