There is nothing like taking a trip to Bert's on a Saturday. You have a front row seat to Eastern Market and people watching! Karaoke is performed by a local cast of characters, who are entertaining and serious about their craft! Sit down grab a beer, enjoy the entertainment and have some gr...
Yeah, the ambience is definately not the best. Not that the service and food makes up for it completely, but I guess osme of us prefer a better environment. It did seem like a nice, friendly place for the usuals and it was actually pretty full in its small place. Wasn't bad, decent, but not the best...
Connie and Barbara's may not be a sight for the eye ambience however, I think that it makes the neighbors and regulars feel right at home! As if their long time hangout has never perished. The food is one that will take you back to your gandmothers house when breakfast was QUALITY. It makes you feel...
The barbecued short ribs were cooked to perfection, falling off of the bone, possibly the best my palate has ever enjoyed. The macaroni was full of cheese and with considerable quality. The collard greens are excellent. We will return soon. The peach cobbler was good. The yams and collard gre...
I drove from Pontiac to this place. The staff is awesome and food is SUPERB, especially the collard greens, cabbage, cat fish and dressing. Very friendly people and food for the soul. Banana pudding and peach cobbler is to die for. We will certainly be visiting them again in the near future, to try...
Some of the best food I have ever had. I'm talking "Slap" Yo Momma Good!
I came to Lady Louisa's one day after receiving a recommendation from a couple friends. First, the place was lovely! I walked in and ambiance, music, and friendly faces that were assisting me was like a breath of fresh air! Now..on to the food. The menu was so vast that I just could not decide what ...
This Saturday was my first time at the restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was great and the customer service was superb! I highly recommend the smothered catfish! I'm spreading the word! As the kids say, the food was "Slap Yo Momma" good!
After all the hype - it was a waste of time - forget the convenience for Fisher Theater goers. Terrible place. They were 40 minutes late in seating us for a reservation made over a week earlier. Claimed they were having trouble in the kitchen and getting food out in time. We found out why. First the...
Awful experience from the time we walked in. The Hostess had the personality of ...Let's just say I've seen Funeral Directors with better behavior. I gave 5 stars for my waitress ONLY. The Food is pitiful, the mac & cheese taste like stove top cardboard. And that Manager, OMAR MITCHELL has an eg...
My date and I went for a drink and appetizer before a play at the Fisher Theater. The place look promising-- clean and somewhat classy. It took a very long time before we received our drinks. The staff seemed quite confused, in fact, despite our simple order. When we asked for a menu, we were ha...
My experience at the Grand City Grille on January 14, 2007 was very nice and relaxing. I went during their brunch hour, the service and food was excellent. Everything was fresh and hot. On Sundays there is normally a gentlemen there who plays the saxophone/sings (puts me in the mind of Kenny G). ...
My husband and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary at GCG Valentine's Day weekend. That was our first time there and it was wonderful. There was no wait. When we were seated by this young man who were referred to us as kings and queens. The staff was very professional and polite. My husban...

Anyone who said that this is good BBQ has not eaten at west point BBQ on Michigan in dearborn. if your just hungry and just happen to be in the hood, I guess it's ok, but I rather take the extra time and gas to go to West Point

Anyone who thinks that Uptown BBQ has good BBQ is neither living uptown or downtown but in a cave. You need to get out a little more. Try West Point BBQ on Michigan Ave. in dearborn. I've been to at least 9 BBQ restaurants, and West Point is the best thus far.

Who ever rated this place 4 stars must be, well, the owner, there's no way this place should get four stars, the only reason that this place got any stars from me is because this site does'nt give you the option to put 0. Sorry, that's just my opinon

The Uptown Barbecue was disappointing. In previous visits, it was much better. Maybe the resturant is under new management or ownership. But I will not go back.

The previous reviews are from 2004 and I hope those diners go back because Uptown BBQ has changed dramatically since. The prices are a little high but, overall the BBQ is good. And the service is better than in the past.
