My date and I went for a drink and appetizer before a play at the Fisher Theater. The place look promising-- clean and somewhat classy. It took a very long time before we received our drinks. The staff seemed quite confused, in fact, despite our simple order. When we asked for a menu, we were handed something that resembled a fast food pizza joint (no exaggeration!). Buffalo wings, bread sticks and pizza-- certainly NOT the upscale environment it pretends to be.

Awful experience from the time we walked in. The Hostess had the personality of ...Let's just say I've seen Funeral Directors with better behavior. I gave 5 stars for my waitress ONLY. The Food is pitiful, the mac & cheese taste like stove top cardboard. And that Manager, OMAR MITCHELL has an ego issue. He fired a waitress in an embrassing way, while we were there.

My husband and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary at GCG Valentine's Day weekend. That was our first time there and it was wonderful. There was no wait. When we were seated by this young man who were referred to us as kings and queens. The staff was very professional and polite. My husband normally does not eat steak but he did here. The steak was so tender I'd swear he was slicing butter. Our waitress was very well informed on their wine list. The atmosphere was so elegant and romantic. The lights were dimmed just right. Off to the side we were still able to catch the NBA three point contest from the t.v. in the lounge. With all of this said, we will be there for 3rd wedding anniversary!

My experience at the Grand City Grille on January 14, 2007 was very nice and relaxing. I went during their brunch hour, the service and food was excellent. Everything was fresh and hot.
On Sundays there is normally a gentlemen there who plays the saxophone/sings (puts me in the mind of Kenny G). With live music it just puts you in a more relaxing mood. There is a server (can’t remember his name), but he is such a nice young man and puts a smile on everyone’s face. His whole attitude of being your server is.., I am here to serve you! His introduction is quite funny but he’s very serious about his job. He makes you feel comfortable that you wouldn’t hesitate about coming back and asking for him to be your server. If anyone from Grand City Grille reads this, you know who I am talking about! I’ve been back occasionally, and I can truly say each time has been a pleasure. I totally recommend this place and to the person who made the previous comment give it another try and see what happens. I recommend Sundays during the brunch hour:)!

After all the hype - it was a waste of time - forget the convenience for Fisher Theater goers. Terrible place. They were 40 minutes late in seating us for a reservation made over a week earlier. Claimed they were having trouble in the kitchen and getting food out in time. We found out why. First the bread was hard and not fresh. The salad was ok, but when our meals arrived they were all cold and on the wilted side. Nothing special, fairly bland. They need some serious help in the place. To top it all off...the experience made us miss the first ten minutes of our show at the Fisher Theater. I would not recommend this restaurant. Do a search and find something much more worthy of your time.
