The food is so-so - the atmosphere is dated - and they charge for refills of tea and soda... No place else is sooooo cheap to do that.... Palermo's / Pasta House / Mario's is better choices to go!
This is the best restaurant in springfield Il to eat at. The owner and family are very nice people and the walleye is very delicious. I would eat at this restaurant before I would eat anywhere else when I lived there. You have try it for yourself the service is wonderful.
I work near the Monty's in the Montvale Plaza and have their sub sandwiches for lunch sometimes 3 times a week. They have great choices and a very polite and helpful staff. I would recommend these subs to anyone.

So it's the best bbq I've ever had. If you want good soul food here's where you'll find it. It may not be in the best location or look like a good place to get food but it is a diamond in the rough!! Try the BBQ Beef Tips dinner with greens and baked beans its awesome!
I graduated from Springfield High School in 1943 and had lunch with many friends at this maid-rite. As I just read they cost .15 cents and you got a free small root beer. I have even had them send me sandwiched here to Denver. I will never forget this Maid-Rite and go there every time I get to Spr...

The owner is very nice and remembered me for the out of state order. I have their Tee shirt too. I want a Maid Rite now, but I hav...

Every time I go to Springfield,IL to visit my family the Cozy Dog is one of the places that I HAVE to go to. The cozy dogs are soooo good and so are the chili fries. I highly recommend this place!!!

It's certainly a must see when visiting Springfield. We always make it one of our priorities when attending The Mother Road Route 66 Festival in September every year. I remember the old Dairy Queen and Cozy Drive In back in the 50's plus I'm very proud to have my COZYDOG Tennesse vanity license plat...
I have been many times over the last few years, with groups for meetings and also dinner with friends and even the Easter Buffet. The food has always been great (the fried chicken is my favorite in town), the service has always been friendly and polite. We recommend it to friends all the time!
Thank you Springfield. We just celebrated our five year anniversary on March 10, 2009. It was gratifying that so many of our customers came to congratulate us and tell us how much they enjoy our restaurant. We have enjoyed these last five years immensely and take great pleasure in serving Springf...
In response to the owner's comment of 2/06- What you posted below is not true. I never said "I can't believe you're out of f---ing sausage". I never called you a "m---er f---er", or any other names for that matter. None of what you claim below ever happened, and we both know it. For the benefi...
My family and I go to Amber Jacks all the time, especially after church on Saturday nights. We love it. The food is absolutely delicious, the ribs are the best I have ever tasted. The grandkids go with us sometimes and would rather go there than anywhere else. We even went there on Christmas Eve ...
My husband and I ate there only after driving around for an hour to find something due to it being a Friday evening. We were not greeted and when we were finally noticed it felt like we were inconveniencing them to be there. The service was slow and often we had to repeat our requests. The steak w...
The customers writing about being out of sausage were asked to leave because he said to the owner "I can't believe you are out of f---ing sausage, you m---er f---er." This was the customer’s response to the owner’s apology for not having sausage patties. We were still able to offer sausage links, ...
Ditto to what everybody else is saying. The food is generally edible.. The service is a crapshoot.. The hostess and the owner have absolutely no business doing anything that involves dealing with the public. We got kicked out for asking why they're always out of stuff on their menu. We'll be visitin...
Went there Sunday morning (Dec 28) for breakfast for the 2nd time in a couple of months. For the 2nd time they were out of sausage patties (and it was well before they were to stop serving breakfast). 2 people in our party were set on having sausage patties that morning for breakfast and so we dec...
I had the worse dining experience of my life at this place. The Hostess is part-pig and foul-mouthed as well. The service was slow and the food was cold. Don't go here - you'll regret it!!
i have to say in all the times that i have beem to amder jacks i have never witnessed any of the things bad about the owner that are being written, i find it hard to believe that she would be this bad and i have to say i have eaten there often since i work close by.
