Wow. That word sums up the food at the Mandarin. I like to try various Chinese restaurants everywhere I go, and I have never experienced food as delicious as here. The Crab Rangoon is perfect (there is actually crab in it, it isn't just a sweet cream cheese wonton most places pass off as Rangoon)...

I thought the Manhattan Deli was ok. I think there are other deli's in Des Moines that make far superior sandwich. The food is priced ok for the amout that you receive and the taste is average. It has good atmosphere but the food isn't to die for.
It's certainly better than the overpriced slop they serve at Palmer's Deli. Jason's Deli is better in my opinion. It isn't much of a "Deli" really, it's a sandwich shop. Excellent food, lots of choices and everything is very tasty and prepared well and quickly. They have the absolute BEST SALSA in town. They give you three different kinds of Salsa and chips free when you dine in. Try the Giant Burrito! Great lunch specials, and they have beer too.
