fabulous food, not fast, but everything was made from scratch and seemed so healthy. great place for a vegetarian or a meat eater.
This is one of my favorite places in Gainesville. it has very little to do with Greek life (unlike neighboring Swamp). also, anywhere with beer specials that include Red Stripe...count me in. I had the French Dip, and it was wonderful, the accompanying fries were delicious too. For sure, going back...
I love Cafe Gardens. I do not know what a previous reviewer was talking about when they said that they only accepted cash... the system must have been down or something, because I have been there so many times and used a card. The food is great - especially the burgers. I always have the hardest tim...
They have excellent sandwhiches!! The food is really great.
awesome grub, get the monkeys uncle. everytime i get food here it seems to get better.
Joe's Place is our home away from home. Comfort food at its best. Their burgers are amazing and the sandwiches are true NY style, especially the reuben! The service and management always make us feel welcome. Overall, a great family value and a local eatery in Gainesville.
We went there on steak night. Great value- steak special came with salad bar. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Excellent service. Firecraker shrimp was tasty.
The bang-bang shrimp were out of this world. And the chilean sea bass was wonderful.
The Gainesville store on Waldo Road is the original but no longer owned by the Tillman family. We have eaten there since opened and it is a great value with great food and service.
I love the fried mushrooms for an appetizer and the spinach wrap for an entree.
As long time patron of this restaurant, we are disappointed with the last visit. They really need to add more waiters for their lunch crowd, especially with what seems like an expansion of their outside dining. Our waitress was excellent but far too busy for all the tables she had to serve.
They ...
Great ambience. A little lacking with the rickety tables & plastic chairs. Very diversified burger joint, but fun place to sit outside and enjoy your friends and watch the passers by. Service is good. But the accompaniments like the steak fries definetly need improvement. All in all a nice place to ...
I have eaten at this restaurant at least once every week for the last five years and now i would like to take a stab at a review, as well as, comment on the previous reviews. The service is always a little sluggish. They do seem to employ a good number of college students as waitresses, but that sho...
I have been eating here for years, and have had mixed experiances but nothing horrible. Service can range from good not great to so so. I have never had to wait for 15 min to be served as some have said but at times my drink may go dry before I get a refill. Food is usually really good the sweet pot...
Two friends and I had a St. Patty's Day dinner here and were quite satisfied. I had the corned beef and cabbage special. One of my friends had a burger with french fries and the other had a dinner salad. We also ordered a basket of tortilla chips which came with a generous portion of salsa. A pitche...
Joe's Place is family and locally owned. Great quality food with fast and friendly servers. They went above and beyond for our table.
I worked here when I first moved to Gainesville and I totally agree with everyone who says the service sucks. I was a hostess and got very tired of having to track down servers playing frisbee in the back alley, or stand and wait for them to finish a conversation, in order to tell them I'd given the...
Everything I ordered at 12pm was served cold. How can you serve macaroni & cheese cold an hour after you open- not even warm? This is the original Sonny's & it needs some work in the kitchen. On the sliced pork lunch ($6.49), the pork was nice- moist, fatty, but cold to match the cold fries & cornbr...
This is your typical gainesville restaurant: mediocre grilled food for the student population who don't know a real restaurant and staffed by the local student population. There's also cheap beer, but there's a liquir store next door, so how cheap is debateable.
The service is terrible. The resta...
If they are known for their burgers, they should find something else. Nothing spectacular, nothing seemingly homemade. Overall it's a mediocre joint good for quarters with frat boys with a creepy owner to boot.
