If you want a good hole in the wall restaurant, The Pig is one of the ultimate. I don't generally eat BBQ, but I will here. The prices are very reasonable and the food is better than average. It's a bit rustic, and if you're a neat freak, keep away because, well, you'll freak. That said, they've cleaned it up in the past year or two. Sorry to see the vintage formica be replaced. The top layer was worn to white from years of elbows and arms sitting to eat in the old naugahide seats. Too much hygiene is bad for your health. If you prefer 'clean' irradiated food, that's your business.
Food most of the time ok but service dinning in and carry out the worst. When they get your order wrong they make it out to be your problem. Owners wife is rude and treats customer's like she is doing them a favor. Spend your money elsewhere.
My wife and were visiting the area and found this restaurant on the Internet. We had great soups and the service was great! When we are back in Jacksonville, we will definitely be eating here again!
We stopped on our way to the airport for lunch. The food was wonderful! We had the combination platter and the Kafta. Very tasty! We were pressed for time but the service was speedy and excellent. We will definitely be back on our next trip!

I went to the Pig for some good carry out barbq. As I sat there waiting for my order I saw roaches crawling all over the floor...Needless to say, I let out a scream, and ran out the door..NEVER to return..!!

My wife and I took our infant here one night and the experience was horrible. This place was filthy. The "garlic bread" was just plain white bread, not buttered, not toasted. Service sucked. Food was dry. NEVER GO HERE
