Had a great time there, the place is decorated beautifully and it has such a warm and cozy atmosphere. I wanted to treat my friend to a lunch and I certainly picked the right place. We both loved it. Our waitress Kimberly was such a delight as was her grandmother.

We had an unfortunate first ever visit to this tea room, for my mom's birthday, on 4/4/11. The food was OK, but not worth $25 for a Classic tea. Be aware that you must cancel a reservation in whole or in part with at least 24 hours notice; otherwise you will get charged. There appear to be no exceptions to this cancellation policy, including medical emergencies. We were not able to cancel or get a gift certificate for my sister, who could not make it due to being called into the hospital for an emergency. Someone else in their review said they had difficulty canceling their reservation a week in advance when their mom was hurt in a car accident. Something is not right here. It shouldn't be this hard to change a reservation with good reason. This completely colored our visit and left us with a less than satisfactory experience.

NOT A GREAT TEA EXPERIENCE.
I had been looking forward to this high tea, but our party was disappointed overall. There were some good points: The place is very English/flowery inside, the place settings were pretty, and the server was very sweet and attentive.
However, some things need improvement: Each diner should receive a menu without having to ask for one, instead of sharing one menu per table. The restaurant needs new menus, instead of using outdated ones and crossing off unavailable items with a pen. Each person should be served their own pot of tea, instead of making two people share one pot. This item of the teapot seemed unnecessarily cheap, since tea is the most inexpensive item on the menu. I would prefer having the food served in courses (first sandwiches, then scones, then dessert), rather than all at the same time. That way, you can enjoy each item by itself, and don't have to choose between a fresh sandwich or a hot scone. The Classic Tea food portions are huge. I would rather have smaller portions with my own pot of tea, or else sharing one Classic Tea for two people. I was really looking forward to the cucumber sandwiches (my favorite), but unfortunately, the sandwich bread was quite dry. The chicken salad filling tasted "off," so I only had one bite. My biggest disappointment, however, was the owner's lack of flexibility to cancel a person in our party with less than 24 hours notice. They would not make an exception for our friend's medical emergency, and they would not provide a gift certificate, so she could come back at another time. At minimum, they could have packed up our friend's food fresh, rather than serving four servings to the three of us, so we ended up boxing up hard, dry sandwiches for our friend. I just feel I did not get my money's worth, particularly for our fourth person. Lastly, they need to clear out the junk in the back yard of the house, to provide a more aesthetic experience when you walk through the back to get to the front door. This place has only been open since 2009, so maybe these are bumps in the road, maybe not. They really need to make some improvements, most especially in their customer service in regard to emergency cancellations. If they correct those things, I would consider coming back. If not, I can’t in good conscience spend my hard-earned money for poor quality customer service and food. - Babs

Strange experience. The tea room is a house, with a lot of junk in back, where you need to walk through to get to the front entrance. Server was nice but forgetful: We had to ask three times for each of our party to get a menu. The menus only listed the teas -- about a fourth of which were crossed off with pen (tacky). They bring out all your food at the same time, which means it will not be fresh when you get to each item. Sandwiches were dry, tea lukewarm. Would be better if they served in oourses (sandwiches, scones, desserts). You have to guarantee the number in your party ahead of time, and cannot cancel any of your party without a 24 hour notice, for any reason. No exceptions for medical emergencies. They also will not give you gift certificates if any of your party can't make it; you get charged full price (including tip!!), and then have the option of taking the stale) food home. Bathrooms were odd: empty toilet seat cover containers in both restrooms. My male friend thought the restrooms looked "like a funeral home" with lots of plastic flowers. A sign on one of the bathrooms asks you "out of courtesy to your fellow diners," to use the other one "if you need to go #2 (poop)". Not very businesslike and just not a nice "tea" place. - Jeanne

First time, last time! Worst experience in a tea room in almost 20 years anywhere. The owner was one of the rudest, most obnoxious people I have ever met. Be aware that you must cancel any in your party 24 hours in advance. No exceptions - not even medical emergencies. And if you do need to cancel any in your party (e.g., due to a medical emergency), there is no option for a gift certificate. You will get charged for the full number of people including any who had to cancel (+ gratuity, if you can believe it!!). You will be charged for the full number including any emergency cancellations, they still serve you the food for the person(s) who couldn't make it, and they will give you a lot of (stale) food to take home. Sandwiches were stale, tea was lukewarm. Restrooms looked dusty, cheap, not very clean, and had a toilet seat dispenser, but no toilet seat covers. Even had a sign on one of the bathrooms that "if you have to go #2 (poop), please use the other restroom out of consideration for our guests." Couldn't they just spring for a fan and some air freshener?? I liked the teacups, and the server was sweet -

NOT A GOOD BIRTHDAY PLACE FOR MOM. Beware! I had hoped for a cozy warm high tea to celebrate my mom's birthday. This owner's NON-CUSTOMER SERVICE ATTITUDE was atrocious. She would not allow me to cancel my sister's reservation, who got called into the ER for a medical emergency. Since we did not have 24 hours notice of this medical emergency, the owner expected me to pay for the empty place AND TO LIKE IT. Would not provide a gift certificate. And then when I said that I would contest my credit card statement, the owner threatened to call the police and take me to court! ( for a $25 charge -- I am not kidding, true story.) This is the worst experience I have ever had at a tea room. She obviously does not care for return business. Save your money, save your time, save your sanity, and take your mom someplace where they actually appreciate their customers. Place was practically empty at lunchtime. Hmmm, wonder why.

I was looking for a place to hold a Tea Party. I checked out another restaurant but chose Kimberly Ann's Tea Room. The food is delicious and filling, the decor is pleasing and I love the little items scattered about that are for sale. The blueberry bread pudding was fantastic. I will go back again.

This restaurant offers without a doubt the very best soups I have ever tasted. I get take away soups here at least 2 times a week for my lunch as I have a business in the Downtown area. Salads are fabulously fresh also. Mae, the owner is a wonderful cook and everything is always fresh and served with a smile.

I had never visited Kimberly Ann's Victorian Tearoom but saw the advertisement in the newspaper. Since I love quaint places to eat in Glendale I just had to eat at this Tearoom. It was so cozy, quaint, lots of things to see and also buy plus the food was delicious. Perfect! I will return often.

A super cottage atmosphere of cosy dining, in lovely surroundings. The food is cooked on site by Mae and freshly baked. Unlike most restaurants that serve frozen or pre packaged foods. Mae's scones are delicious and freshly baked on the premises. Her quiche salads are to die for. I love the afternoon tea's but now drop in for lunch which is under $10. A large selection of tea's to drink, or cofee, iced soda's. Kids love to dress up here. I've been a regular for five years and love the place.
