Food Poisoning is a Horrible Experience!! Beware of this overpriced wanna-be establishment!! my fiance got food poisoning from Centro!! certified by Mercy Hospital!! It's so much fun being in the ER at 2am!! and it is even worse when Centro won't even accept any responsibility!! The Chef there didn't even know if shell fish doesn't open naturally when steamed, IT IS BAD, AND SHOULD NOT BE EATEN! Des Moines, you deserve better than this!

I've eaten at Centro many times and always had decent service ... but the last time I went with a coworker for lunch, it was ridiculous. We waited 45 minutes for a table (understandable in lunch rush), then waited for the server ... then put our orders in right away. We ordered pizza and salads — very simple. But our waitress never came back. We couldn't find her and waited almost an hour before she even walked by again. We asked about our food and she seemed surprised. So we asked for it to go — she forgot the salads and the pizza was cold. When we finally got our salads, they weren't even the right ones. By now we were late for work and had to settle for cold pizza and whatever salad she grabbed — for full price.

not that great considering paper and news seems to always talk about. lots of other italian restaurants that are better. did i say alot

They have this piano guy that plays on certain days. Would definitely recommend going when he is there. Creates a wonderful ambience.
