 My family and I have been going there for 10 + years. We are all now grown and married and live scattered around the valley, but we all still go to Hal's. Salsa is unbeatable. Love FUNDIDO! Chips are delish. Great prices! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

 Hal-o-penos restaurant is very friendly, clean and good service. Their waitresses are always friendly and their margaritas are delicious.

 It had been there for a very long time. They sold the business, kept the cook,the menu and pretty much the whole staff and became A Taste of Mexico. A short time later they reopened as Hal O Peno's. Food is excellent, our favorite place.

 I went here a couple years ago, I live down the block from it as well, I haven't been in a while, just because I havent had the chance but it was great. I just wanted to say to k0stiia@yahoo.com, its been there for quite some time, I have lived here since 98, and its been there prob since then. So it has been there longer than a year.

 ive been going there for years. over the last year the prices have gone up and the quality down. the new owner, jose, has his wife working as a hostess. she speaks no english and never smiles. god forbid if there is a complaint how would she be able to handle it? she can't speak to the customers! the services has gone down also. they used to have the best service in town not anymore. they let one go that had worked there for years. what happened to her? She gave the best service in the place.

 well to the person b4 me... hal's has been open for years... i should know my uncle owned it and its be open sense i was born... IN 1989... WHEN MY UNCLE OWNED IT IT WAS IN TOP SHAPE.. NOW ANOTHER DUMB GUY OWNS IT AND THE FOOD ISNT AS GREAT BUT STILL VERY GOOD... MY MOM STILL MANAGES IT TOO..

 This is more of a response geared towards the comments made by Ms. Ashley. The resturant is good but I find it hard to believe you have gone to it for years. I live a block away from it, and I can assure you, it has not been there for more than a year. Otherwise the food is great. Having lived in Southern Cali and Tucson I have had my fair share of Mexican food. The only item that is not worth it would be the fajitas. Not much flavor there. Otherwise it is a great place. Never have they messed up an order or been to lazy about a request. Give it a shot if you are in the neighborhood. Also, they have big TVs and always showcase the local teams or out of market games.

 This has been a restaurant that me and my family have been going to for years. This is definately the best mexican food restaurant in Arizona. I always have nothing but good things to say about Hal O Penos!!! Everyone should go here. Also they have a fantastic catering service as well.

 We love this place! We've been eating here for ten years, through three owners. Now that the chef owns it, Hal-O-Peno's is the best it has ever been and the food is still the same wonderful stuff. Don't miss the fundido style chimis or the enchiladas. All the sauces are great and their salsa cannot be beat! YUM-O!

 the food is great but if you're in a hurry, this is not the place to dine. Service can be abit slow but that is Hal's only down fall.
