Five average-sized ravolis for 15 dollars. No menu for children. No salad with a dinner entrée. Waiters who forget to give you a wine list, but asks what you would like to order.

I agree with the previous reviewer about the ownér's openness. The owner is certainly available to customers and smiles alot. I wouldn't consider such an attitude as being considerate. He unwisely joked when passing by our table that we wouldn't be needing a doggie bag when he saw my wife's plate, not realizing how angry we were about the lack of serving portions. The owner, granted, was very willing to meet me at my request where I told him that I thought we didn't receive enough for the cost (a serving of cheese ravoli and a plate of 1/2 chicken with potato wedges with two glasses of chianti cost 53 dollars before gratuity). Rather than expressing concern about his clients' perceptions , he said he was paying 35 dollars an hour for his chef and 6000 dollars a month for his rent. Personally, I don't see how this justifies shortchanging his customers on food. He also said that he has been working here for over 13 years and never received
a complaint and wouldn't be missing us. I left wishing his the best of luck.

What a pity. The quality of the food is superior, but it only makes his attitude and service more regrettable, something like the joke from the Mastercard commercial.

Trattoria Giacomo will blow you out of the water! Giacomo personally greets you and is the most incredible chef that I've ever met. The food is better than my dining experience in Rome!! Giacomo can cook anything! (including cajun...he cooked in New Orleans for 12 years)... Giacomo can do gumbo, bolognaise, you name it, he can make it happen. He was the 'baby' growing up.....and learned everything from his mom in Corleone, Italy... which is a province of Palermo. MANGIA!

The food is marginal but the service is dreadful.
Catering
The people could not be nicer and the food is great. The daily luncheon specials are one of the best deals on the North Shore.
