Willow Grove Restaurant Guide

It's funny. I ate here 15 years ago and swore I'd never go back... it was that poor (the food, not the service). I moved away for a couple years and am now back in the neighborhood. I looked up reviews for Tortillas and they were mostly positive... I went back tonight. I mean... it's been 15 years. Verdict? I couldn't finish my meal... which goes to prove that the vast majority of people who wrote reviews for this restaurant either don't know what good Mexican food is suppossed to taste like or they are sadly pedestrian in their tastes. It was nicely (not aesthetically but nicely) presented slop. There are SO many good or great Mexican restaurants in the region. Go well out of your way to avoid this one. (I will say the margheritas were wonderful... but I brought the tequilla. Still... they had an excellent margherita base mixer.)

Years ago, my husband and I used to eat at Tortillas regularly and enjoyed it thoroughly. However, we returned yesterday to their weekend breakfast buffet and found that it was one of our worst dining experiences ever. Little was available and what was there was dried up and tasteless. It was not surprising that there were few people there at lunchtime; the last time we were there for the buffet, it had been bustling with business. The service was awful as well. My husband left hungry and disgusted and we happened to notice a statement on the wall as we left that breakfast buffet included a complimentary glass of champagne or mimosa. It was the first we heard of it. We will not return.
