A diner from Louisville, KY Aug 17, 2010
Stopped in for a late dinner this past weekend and had hoped for a great experience given the recent hype around their opening. What a disappointment! I ordered the falafel which was so incredibly dry and badly overcooked (was it sitting in a warmer for 6 hours?) that it tore up my gums after just one bite. The brick-like texture of the chick pea patty was accompanied by what can only be described as particle board masquerading as pita bread. I had to ask the server for more tzatziki sauce in the hope that the additional moisture might help. It didn't! Despite also requesting that this come without onion, it arrived smothered in huge raw red chunks. While the server noticed that I was picking them off and building a replica of Mt Rainier on the side of my plate, she never once asked if she could return it for me. Other than this oversight, the server was attentive and welcoming. The only real negative about the place is the food. The kitchen needs some serious help if what they served me is what they consider being anything close to edible. Save your money and keep driving down Bardstown Rd to any one of the other restaurants in the neighborhood who know how to get it right. This place still has major teething pains to sort out.... starting with a new chef and kitchen staff that know the difference between edible food and building materials.
