An unpretentious little sushi joint, the vibe is contemporary Californian with yellow walls and tiny booths, but the fish is as fresh as in the finest restaurant in Japan. Although the menu boasts all the typical Cal-Japanese offerings, Sushi Mon really specializes in the creative and the sublime. Don't miss the Third Street roll, a totally unique concoction that is a meal unto itself, a crab roll topped with a steaming, rich scallop-and-mushroom casserole. Other unique rolls include the Philadelphia with smoked salmon and cream cheese, the Rolls Royce with ahi and tomato and the Godzilla, a roll of gargantuan proportions stuffed with white fish, avocado, crab and dynamite sauce. Be sure to bring plenty of friends, because proportions are generous and once you start sampling, you'll want to try them all.
