I have been a regular customer of Steak and Ale since 1989. All restaurants in South Bend, Mishawaka have a new smoking ban in place via County Government decree, so the smoke is no longer a issue.
There is a great early bird menu Monday thru Friday also.

The filet minon and lobster bisque are wonderful. It only got 3* for cleanliness due to smokers.
one of the best burger joints/bars on west side in south bend. order the fire rock burger, formed by hand, and an order of fries, and you'll be hard pressed to eat it all. very clean, very friendly place.
My family and I arrived at the restaurant around 8:30 PM (week night). We sat for some time before being waited on, maybe 20 minutes. When we tried to order we found that they were out of most all entrees and no diet coke. We will not be returnin

Our food was really good (Steak and Salmon) and the rolls were amazing. The service was a little slow but overall a nice place to go for a good meal and a decent price for a steakhouse.
Awful service; we sat in a room that was painfully loud (concrete floors are not a good idea) -- another party walked out because of the noise. Food was mediocre (burger, wings) and appetizer came the same time as the meal. I would not return.
My boyfriend and I love the Logans on Ireland. We live near Town and Country so that means the Logans on Main is closer but the food is Terrible there. Every time we go to the one on main we hate it . Go to the Logans on Ireland ITs worth the drive.
