watch out for the floor mgr. if you are a party of 2
the floor mgr.will find a larger party and put them closer to the front of the line even after you have been waiting on line for 45 min. and a larger party had just walked through the door

This place is great! I've rated the 'service' and 'ambience' low... because it's not 'that kind of restaurant'!
The food is fabulous, always the freshest and done to order - so important in a seafood place. It's a 'sit down' restaurant, but there aren't any waiters...you order and wait till your number is called and bring it to your table.
What Southside saves in paying waiters they give back to you in value! The dinners are wonderful, large, fresh portions and very reasonably priced -I'd say about half to one third of what you'd pay somewhere else.
If you're looking for ambience, candlelight, this isn't the restaurant to go to, but if you're looking for value and wonderfully delicious and fresh seafood where the kids are welcome (yes, they have non-seafood items too...but not too many) then this is the place to go!
Their take-out and fresh fish market are great too, though the fish market can get a bit pricey!
The only place I've had seafood as fresh as this place in right off the docks in Montauk!
