I came to the restaurant hungry for Mexican food. As I walked in, the only waitress there was taking orders from a family seated at a table. So I just stood waiting by the register, waiting to be seated. After a while, I sait on the "Waiting to be seated" bench by the door. Then another person walked in. The waitress took him to a table and placed his order before me. She completely ignored the fact that I was a potential customer who was waiting to be seated. I then just walked out of the restaurant, as she just stared after me. Very bad service. I guess their service may represent their food, which may be bad also.
I FIRST TRIED THEIR TACOS. THEY ARE THE SMALL ONES YOU FIND IN MEXICO AND WERE GOOD EXCEPT THE MEAT WAS OVERCOOKED. THE FRUIT SALAD WAS THE BEST I EVER HAD ANYWHERE AND THE STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM WAS TO DIE FOR. I THINK THEY BOTH ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD.

Please if anyone finds that they have relocated, post it here. I'd gone there for 17 years. No one has a better Pollo Fundito. The food and service were awesome

Hal O Penos Mexican Cafe has reopened on the NWC of 51st Ave and Northern. Best Mexican food on the West side is back. Sun thru Thurs 11am to 9pm; Friday thru Saturday 11am to 10pm.
