I have never been so confused in my life about the conflicting reports about the status of this restaurant. I got so excited when I read one reviewer say that they heard it had reopened after Katrina, then was terribly disappointed when I could find no evidence of this. This was a wonderful dining secret in the French Quarter...I am so sorry it is gone.

This is a somewhat belated review, considering that the last time I ate at Rita's was in 2002. However, I was so thrilled to discover through other reviews that the restaurant had come back after Katrina that I just have to chime in. My husband and I had one of the most enjoyable meals of my life at Rita. The service and atmosphere would have been enough for me to come back, but my dinner, Pasta Mathis, is something that I still dream about. I often try to duplicate restaurant meals at home, tweaking the seasonings until I get it right. I've never been able to do this with Pasta Mathis, so until my next visit to Rita's, my memories will have to do.

One of the finest places in the country. No pretenses, laid back, elegant. One of the great little walled patios around. Excellent wine list. Used to be Martha Stewart's favorite place in the city.

We are so pleased we tried Flaming Torch for the first time last weekend - it will definitely not be our last visit to this wonderful restaurant. Every single dish exceeded our expectations in quality and in portion size. Each bite was savored.

After spending a fortune at better-known restaurants, I wandered into Rita's, and I've gone back every trip. The food is definitely New Orleans, but uniquely Rita's. The pasta dishes have the tastiest sauces, and the quality of the ingredients is first-rate.

My parents had gone here on a whim while visiting New Orleans and LOVED it! I went there, after their raving review, and ordered the eggplant parmagian dish...it was INCREDIBLE! An amazing dish that was unlike any other I've ever had...I can't even begin to describe it! I definitely would recommend it, and have, to anyone who is visiting New Orleans and wants a fabulous meal!
