Had lunch in the Bistro one Saturday with my wife. We spent $100 for lunch with tax and tip for a meal that I would classify as barely average. We each had lobster bisque to start which was little more than a salty, thin seafood sauce. I had a filet which was good. My wife had shrimp which was rubbe...
I came in with my wife and I ordered the dover sole and bibb salad. My wife ordered the salmon gravlax and halibut.
Both of our meals were outstanding and our food was worth every penny. By the way it was cheaper than we expected. Nice to see such a fine restaurant in Dayton!
Good food. Filty place. Nice people.
We used to go here all the time...sometimes several times a week. Then it changed to El Rancho Grande and the food was not as good. Probably have only gone twice since the change (many months). It looks like the name has changed again, so I don't know how it is now.
Maggie's new owner has brought back some of the original menu items and they are just as good as they were 30 years ago. One of the best burgers you 'll ever have.
The food is what passed for Italian food in the 1950's in this country: heavy red sauced pasta thrown at the diner with screeches of "everythin' goin'OK here, need anythin'else?" masquerading for service. The lasagna looked like a flattened out flame-singed miasma of red and yellow thickened puddles...
This is a small family run operation, that still holds the old world charm of authentic Italian cooking. The recipes are all from within the family, with the original Matriarch and Patriarch at the helm of the operation. All food is prepared fresh while you wait, and as often as I have eaten here,...
Great food and great cozy setting for a romantic dinner for two or family dining. The service is as wonderful as the food. This is a place for a dining experience, not just a place to have a meal! One of my favorites and have never left without a satisfied appetite and smile on my face.
Excellent italian cuisine, and the lasagna and house dressing is to die for. To the "reviewer" who suggested Dayton's Bravos as better than Momma Disalvos... Puhlease.. Bravos here has some of the most bland italian food around. Perhaps Fazolis is in order for this person. Momma Disalvos is not to b...
The atmosphere is very quaint and close to some of the restaurants we visited in Italy (and "little Italy" in NYC)
The service was great too. We didn't really have to wait to have our drinks refilled, yet the waitress wasn't hovering.
We went around 8PM, so it wasn't crowded, but you could tell e...
If possible I wouldn't give the Oakwood Club any stars. Our experience there was the second worst experience I have ever had at a restuarant. We made reservations for March 14, 2009 for a party of six. The reservations were made more than 4 days in advance. When we arrived at the restaurant we were ...
THIS IS ONE OF OUR FAVORITES. YOU CAN ACTUALLY GO LATE ON A WEEK NIGHT AND YOU DON'T FEEL YOU'RE INTRUDING! THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT AND THE SERVICE IS TOO! ESPECIALLY GOOD IS THE POTATOE CRUSTED SEA BASS AND THE HOUSE SALAD.
This place is a diamond in the rough.Just moved here.We always had a favorite reataurant back home and now we have a new one and a new favorite waitress. Thanks to Amy we enjoyed great wine "Hangtime pinot noir" food "bone on filet and fresh Halibut" Amy was a hoot from the get go. She really made us...
Wonderful! Busy, exciting place to eat and enjoy the evening; food is outstanding and service is equally great;
The Oakwood Club has been around forever. I lived in the Centerville area and my parents just always loved this establishment. I moved away to the Bellefontaine area and during the time of my birthday I am always wanting a good steak, what always comes to mind is "The Oakwood Club". The bar is a ver...
How can you go wrong with this place? The BBQ chicken is outstanding and I've heard that the ribs are great as well. Not only that, but you get a lot of food for your money.
I was raised in Dayton and come back ther about 4 times a year for various reasons. These trips always include ribs from old hickory. To me, they are the best after sampling many others. I only eat ribs from Hickory now.
Old Hickory has the best prime rib, steaks, and chicken. Their service was excellent and I will be going back again and agian.
This restaurant is my all time favorite. My family and I celebrate all our birthdays and celebrations at Hickory BarBQ. The staff is great and very friendly.
I have been going to this restaurant for as long as I can remember. As a kid I would go up on East Third street to watch the ribs turn on the long skewers. I now go to the one on Brown street as much as I can. The food is great and it has a nice homey feel to it. The staff is great there too.
