The City of Poughkeepsie has always been very fortunate to have a great selection of good restaurants to eat in. However, the addition of Amici's on Main Street, right next to the renovated train station, has improved the selection 10-fold. Whether you want to share an appetizer or pizza at the ba...

Really really fresh entrees. Best mexican food I have had in a very long time since I was last in Acapulco. The margaritas were to die for!

This restaurant had to have the most authentic and freshest mexican ever! The portions were large and resonably priced. I hadn't had mexican this good since being in Ixtapa. The seafood fajitas were exceptional. The guacamole tasted like it had just been prepared. My husband on the other hand has ne...

Ah, the Acropolis Diner. Frequented by Vassar students looking for something to eat at 4:00 in the morning. The food is alright, though it's not cheap, but it's open 24 hours. There are better diners in town, but if you want to go somewhere nearby, the Acrop is a good choice.

The strawberry margarita was all strawberry mix, not enough ice and practically no tequila. The menu was a...
We had a great dining experience in our recent visit to the Poughkeepsie area - Amici's Restaurant down near the Hudson River. The food was some of the best that I've had in a long time -- and the prices were very reasonable considering the quality and quantity of food. I'd highly recommend it!
Amici's is located in Dooley Square at the Pok train station. I work in the building, and have visited the restaurant frequently as both a take-out and dine-in customer. The decor is great - warm russet and gold tones evoke a Tuscan feel. And you certainly get your money's worth when ordering a slic...
Outstanding food; experience chef from the Culinary Institute provides a different set of specials each week - we keep going back; haven't been disappointed yet. Nice location down by the river.
Outstanding food (chef is from the CIA); great service; we really enjoyed ourselves
