Nice food and great tasting. I have been going here for years. I remember the original location. The service is the only draw back. One person takes your order. Another brings it and has know idea who wanted what and if there is something wrong or you need something else you cannot find any one ...
Great tasting food for the money. If you go during rush hour, expect to wait. Once you're seated, the staff are friendly. Not a fancy restaurant (go to Si Senor if you are looking for atmosphere), but I go to El Sombrero for the taste of the food - the best I've tried in town, though there are still...
This place serves truly authentic New Mexican cuisine! Fresh, delicious and absolutely what it is supposed to be. No catering to the Taco Bell crowd here. Platters are ideal; salsa platonic. We never miss this place when in NM and hope it thrives for years to come!
It was awful!!! we placed a to go order, by the time we drove 20 minutes back home we realized it was completely wrong and when I called the manager she said it was not her problem and there was nothing she would do and even said if there was something we didnt like then we should just scrape it off...
Great food, salsa is exellent (not too hot, a lot of flavor)

I am from LC. We now live in Texas and my husband has become a Spanish Kitchen freak. We are addicted to the salsa and red and green enchilada plates. Every time we are in town we go to Spanish Kitchen and eat. Yummy!

The best folded tacos anywhere. I have been a regular for 40+ years and is our usual Sat. lunch. My boys usually eat 8 tacos each and I am down to 4-6 (could eat more). Must try.
This is my favorite resturant in the known universe! You wont fear death once you've had the green chile enchalada plate with a Dos XX, because you know what hevan is like.

I've been going to the Spanish Kitchen since I was a kid. I'm >40 years old now and to this day will make it a point to visit the Spanish Kitchen. A trip to Las Cruces and not eating at the Spanish Kitchen is like a day without sunshine. Great food! haven't found any better.
I have driven out of my way to eat here every time I have traveled west from the Atlantic coast. I first ate here in the 1970's and I'm always relieved to find they are still here. I've sent friends out of their way to eat here. Good food, local folks, great!
Excellent food, relaxed atmosphere. My first stop in Las Cruces.
Nothing fancy. Very casual place. Is nicer inside than it appears from without. Order at the counter they call your number when its ready. Comfortable tables and chairs. I really do like this place. BBQ is very good and Mexican food is good also. A nice change of pace in Las Cruces.
El Sombrero is a middle of the road New Mexican cuisine restaurant. Service and abiance is friendly and acceptable. The covered outdoor patio is the best place to eat...nothing fancy but better than inside. It can get busy. Parking lot is small and crowded. Food is New-Mex. Green chile enchilad...

Andele is a little, non-pretentious, restaurant in Old Mesilla. It has a fairly extensive menu of New Mexican and Mexican dishes. The quality of the food is continually excellent. They do serve pasole and on weekends menudo. Tortas, carne adovada, and tacos al carbon are excellent...as is everything...

The Spanish Kitchen offers THE finest example of authentic and traditional Mesilla/Hatch valley red chile enchiladas in Las Cruces. Others are good...this is the best. The pre-dinner salsa, tacos and warm bread also make this a do not miss dining experience. The ambience is lacking, but locals coul...

The Spanish Kitchen has a legion of faithful customers. However, the food is average at best. New Mexican cuisine with a limited menu. Service and ambiance are ok...prices a little high for the mediocre quality. Don't avoid it..it is not bad, but don't expect great food.
Si Senor is a restaurant serving "New Mexican" cuisine...despite what one reviwer said. Lots of Mesilla Valley chile to go around. The people up north (ie, Albuquerque and Santa Fe think they alone are the ones who determine such things around these parts...sorry, but you are wrong! You are not the ...
I love this restaurant and stop there whenever I'm in Las Cruces.
I read the other reviews, and someone said this was NEW MEXICAN food, when it's BORDER food. New Mexican food is the blue corn, not spicy food in Northen New Mexico. If you're going to gripe, please do it right. Now, for BORDER food, this place is not bad. I enjoy the food here, and find it fast,...
While not authentic Mexican it is authentic New Mexican. I will continue to travel from my Maine home to New Mexico specifically for food like this! Only downside, they seated us near the kitchen and the break area.
