i`m a chef from germany, for me and my family it is very goog, good food, very friendly stuff, not very clean but clean, the food was very fresh,hot and more than enough, it means all you can eat, you can`t find a better place for that money.
Going to the North American Steak Buffet has always been a good experience. The food is great, fresh with a varying selection at a reasonable price. Also, kids eat free on weekdays. The staff is always friendly, and the establishment is always well maintained. Would highly recommend to everyone.

Sue and Sam run a great place. I have been a customer for over 10 years and have yet to have a bad experience there. Sue is very careful to provide you with the best you can get. Each meal is made when you order it. The vegetables are always fresh and cooked properly.
Horrible snobby teenage workers. The snobby cashier girl even carded my 57 year old mom for a beer and made her walk back to her booth to get her ID. We had our whole family here for a family get together and I know of at least two orders that were messed up that night. Very horrible experience

The lady who posted the food issue should understand that places that focus on beer etc are not the best places for children to be and why were you both drinking at the same time?
my husband and I make a point of eating at old chicagos, whether we are visiting in fargo or just passing through.
When you walk in the atmosphere is very nice and staff is friendly, also very helpful in explaining each meal that was very different to me and my family. We really liked our meal and the environment. We'd definitely go again.
I thought the food was great, and the service was pretty good too. We didn't have children in our party, so I can't speak for "kid friendly" but there was plenty of food, and there WAS a manager on duty. Overall, we enjoyed it and we'll be back!
