I don't agree that this restaurant is only for special occasions. Nor is it pricey...salad, entree, and two side dishes for less than $20! This is a great restaurant. My only complaint is that the decor is a little dated...but I understand they are closing to do some major renovations this month.
Healthy, this food is not. A good meal for a very low price. I find it best to get take-out though, the seating is the same as all other LJS. Quick, cheap lunch or a "treat" from your diet when you just crave all that fried stuff.
After remodeling, this is a lot more open and less noisy. The food is reasonable for the price, the service a bit frayed at times, especially over the lunch hour rush. A nice place to stop if you are in the mall anyway.
Mother Bear's pizza is rather unique in Bloomington. The sauce is sweet and dabbed on the top of the pizza as well as under the cheese. You can get a big square slice and a soda for a very very reseasonable price. A great value and place to stop for lunch during the day if you wait until after 1P...

The service is excellent at one of the main "alumni" spots in Bloomington. In summer you can eat out on the small patio. Groups can reserve the "Little 500 Room" or an area sat a bit off to one side by itself for parties of around 8 to 10 people. Food is simple dinner food, focusing on sandwiches....
Pretty much like any Poderosa you've been too. A bit smaller than others I've been in, there is now this bar area that you can buy or get with a meal. I'm not much for steak, but the chicken is good and the food on the bar is fine as well. Also have chocolate ice cream which for some of us is ver...

You'd think that in a college town, there would be restaurants open all night, especially one which say they are around the nation. This Stake & Shake is open in Bloomington fairly late though not 24 hours a day. The food is average, the price average, it is nice to be waited on but at times the s...
Romantic, good food at a very low price and a watchful staff are the stand-outs here. But the buffet is limited and only served 11AM to 1PM during the week, and on Sunday Brunch hours. Call ahead for reservations during holidays or near end of semester. I accidently did another review of this just...

OK, I like Wendy's hamburgers the best. I also like their 99 cent menu where even a huge adult can ge a full meal for under six bucks. The food is the same as any Wendy's. One pet peeve is the "we stay open late" sign for the drive through -- 10PM in a college town is not late! I can't say I thik...
Just like all the other Applebees in America, this one is smoke from and has interesting items on the walls. The best times to go are off hours -- after 1PM for lunch and after 7PM for dinner during the week; weekends are tricker. Standards are good and the menu changes slightly each month or so. ...
About the same price as a Bishop's Buffet but the food is not as good nor is the selection as wide. An ok place to stop if one is in the mall or with several picky eaters. It is a cafeteria though so watch those prices of the plates you put on your tray.

The biggest problem with "Crazy Horse" is the smoking -- it can destroy your meal to be sitting near another table smoking and the high semi-private booths do nothing to keepout smoke. The food is good and I've always found the staff friendly and eager to please.

It is a Denny's, much like other Denny's. The last few times I've been there, however, the staff seemed spaced -- forget she'd already took our order, messed things up on the order. They also could set the thermostat up about two degrees higher, my companion complained he was cold. One of the few ...

Very attentive waiters. Orders have always been right on. My ratings are based on restaurants similar to this one. I visit here for breakfast two or three times a month.
Quality of food had fell off last time I was in there, small sandwich for price.
the best food in b-town
some of the best burgers in town. the breaded tenderloin is amazing. a bloomington staple, hopefully for years to come.

This used to be downtown near the courthouse but now you have to know where it is to find it. IT has fake outside dining -- indoors under a big sunny area with fake trees and plants, no worry about insects here. The food is simply, a bit strange in terms of combinations and a definate "California"...

Loved the lunch items. Nice (large) servings and very tasty. God value.
