This place is stuck in the 70's. The owners are so out of touch. This is the type of place that I go when I have been doing yard work or cleaning fish and havent had a shower yet. The music that they have playing is enough to make you puke.
I have visited the Carey Hilliards many times. Every time I go the food gets worse and worse. They served my family re-fried fries “horrible”. I do not understand what kind of establishment would do such a thing. Nevertheless they even sold me some so called fish bites, which I have eaten before an...
Went to drive through ordered a salad and received hard lettuce. Worst salad I have ever had from this restaurant.
Hungry and weary from long drive for a funeral we expected a decent lunch. 11:30 09/27/09, my husband, sister, mother and myself (63, 49, 82, 62 respectively). Ordered 4 BBQ plates w Brunswick Stew, pulled pork & slaw. Brunswick Stew? We could not eat the vinegary, spicey concoction that did not...
As a tourist, you rely on word-of-mouth for restaurant suggestions. Most of the time, those referrals are ‘spot-on’…. that is DEFINITELY NOT true when the restaurant is Carey Hilliard’s. On 11/15/09, while visiting Pooler for my grandson's birthday, we dined at the Carey Hilliard's location conve...
The reason I want to write this review is the fact that I dined at your restaurants on Thurday April 8 ,2010 and everything was going well after we order my wife order something chicken and I order (SHRIMP SALAD WITH POTATO SALAD).I was enjoying my meal until I began to chew on a spoon full of shrim...
I always thought CH has one of the best shrimp salad's around, after tonight I won't eat them any more and may not eat there at all. The shrimp salad tasted like it has minced canned shrimp, it was eatable but barely
We ate at the Statesboro CH's for the first time a few days ago---although the restaurant was clean and the staff good- the food was NOT. My husband is from s. georgia and knows GOOD BBQ-the Brunswick stew was awful--looked like pureed baby food and was too spicy for some of us to eat.Coleslaw was t...
While the food was good and the restaurant obviously cared for, the waitress was terrible. She knew little English, her hair was an oily mess and was slovenly in appearance. What a disappointment.
I am originally from Savannah Georgia and I grew up eating at this fine resturaunt...but as of late as they keep expanding their quality is going DOWN HILL! I recently ate at the one in Pooler, GA (which is a suburb of Savannah.) and my seafood was so greasy I had heartburn for the rest of the day. ...
I am a Native of Savannah, and Carey Hillards has always been a very nice place to dine, but lately, it has gone down hill. I am so upset because I eat out at least 2 times per week, and I use to frequent Carey Hillards alot. Today I went there and the sweet tea was awful, it use to be the best in...
I've eaten at Hilliard's on Skidaway (and all other locations) since it opened. I also ate REGULARLY at Bill Hilliard's in Thunderbolt. I give ALL 3's because Hilliard's, once "Savannah's Favorite" is no longer consistent. You simply take "pot luck" when you go to ANY of their locations. Sometimes...
I have been eating here since I was a child. I now live in Fl. Recently was in Savannah for vacation. I love the BBQ plate, but for the first time, I could not eat the Brunswick stew. It was so spicy and hot I was unable to eat it. It was NEVER this hot ever before. You have lost several loyal cust...
I am originally from Savannah but have lived in NC for the past 20 yrs. I plan trips to Savannah for one reason only ... to go to Carey Hilliard's!! In fact I'm headed down again in April 06 for several days and I anticipate that I will eat there 4 or 5 times during my stay!! CH has always had great...
I always like eating at Hilliards when I come into Savannah from Columbia, SC. The seafood is great. I especially enjoy the shrimp and oysters.
Good family resturant with excellent prices for the value. Ask for the Waiter "Bill" he was friendly and efficient.
great place to just ask for your food to be freshly cooked.
I grew up eating at carey Hilliards. The service is fast and the food comes out quick. My mom worked for The original Mr Hilliard in the 60s on Skidway Road. My Favorite is the Bq Plate. I alway's order the same thing. I love the sweet tea.. I also like the hamburger steak and club sandwich. I will...
My family and I come to the Savannah area twice a year. Every visit we make sure to stop at Carey Hilliards for the best bar-b-que around. They are reasonably priced, child friendly and the food is great quality for the price. I fed a family of 5 for under $40.00 WOW!!!! If you decide to stop make ...
The food is always excellent and served in a timely manner. They have some of the leanest pork b-b-q I have ever had, and it is really tasty.
