I'm visiting a relative in Ventura, CA, and have eaten at Christy's 5 times so far, so obviously I'm a fan. Lot's of locals seem to agree. This is a family owned and operated restaurant and all were eager to please. If it's not on the menu, just tell them what you want and how you want it. No proble...

Good pizza; great for kids because of all the arcade games. Warning: the kids run wild.
Duke's used to be one of the best little burger shops on the beach. We'd been going for years. No longer. Duke's is under "new management" and they've dropped their World famous fried calamari. Their food is decent, but the service is a bit surly and the "new management" just doesn't take care of th...
Excellent Fish Burgers, dishes. Very bad hamburgers. Sawdust covered floors, pool tables, air hockey. Nice outdoor patio area. Close to beach.
Well, I heard about all of thier Fish sandwiches. I love fish, could not wait to go. But the Best Tasting fishes were fried. Like Cod & Pollock. The Tuna type fish they offer and the Mahi Mahi they offer are grilled. I only like baked of broiled fish. They will not do that. Did not like the hamburg...
Asked at the front desk of the Quality Inn in Ventura about a beer and sandwich place. "Oh, Dukes!" I walked over and found a little bit of paradise. The locals were gregarious and the beer great - 12 oz or 32 oz drafts - and nothing in between. Everybody friendly and a really neat place. Enjo...
Living on the east coast (Washington, D.C.) I stumbled onto Duke's several years ago on an annual California escape. I've made it my business to enjoy one of Duke's burgers and California casual atmosphere many times since. Come to the National Capital aea if you want bad burgers, lousy service an...
I like the restaraunt, its a nice place to hang out with your buddies. It's by the beach, and has a good beach surfer theme going on. Arcades are in the back room along with a jukebox. Arcades are pretty old, but still fun. Overall, their burgers are good. I like their zucchini sticks. yummy!
Not only is the food excellent...the casual, California atmosphere and sawdust floors takes me back to the good old days when you received quality for your money. The onion rings are crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. I only wish there was a Duke's here in the Music City.
We LOVED this place!!! My friend and I were on a roadtrip, and this was the perfect cliche California beach diner!!!! I would go back any day of the week!
Ferraros is the best. If you havent tried it you need to. The garlic bread is the best. Kids will remember the puppet.
Our FAVORITE Italian spot. Been going there for over 30 years. Enjoy the Sam's Melt and dipping sauce & Bob O'Grady's Salad. Garlic Bread is the best!

The Golden Egg is a restaraunt I have been going to for a few years. It is one of my favorite breakfast houses. It is located next to the more popular Petes Breakfast house. The Golden Egg is usually less crowded than Petes and actually has a bit more sophisticated breakfast and lunch than Petes. (I...

Pumpkin waffle with appricots, pecans and whipped cream - wow! Also, the coffee rocks! Which is a basic must have. Homemade biscuits and cinammon rolls (ask to have it heated), don’t forget the awesome banana bread.

This restaurant is a good breakfeast house. It is very clean and a good no wait restaurant. I'd recommend their homemade bannana bread and Belgium waffle with real maple syrup. And Ramiro the waiter is really nice and funny. He's one of the best and proffessional waiters I've seen. It's also goo...

This is really good!! All I had was a bagel, but I was impressed because I wasn't expecting much.

Ventura has no topper to "Pauline's" Gourmet Oriental. Always fresh, never any MSG, and tastes that brings our family back for more. My daughter, the world's most finicky eater, consistently requests her favorite - Tangerine Chicken.
