Great is exactly right, the view, the service the timeliness, exactly what I would expect from a restaurant with "great" in the name. By far the best seafood restaurant I have been to in morro bay. They seemed to have been running some great specials, I had the macadamian nut crusted Halibut with a g...
The food is great. They'll make any changes you request. The service is top-notch. The views are breath taking.
After several years of dining at Dorn's we were thoroughly disappointed (and disgusted). I took someone who had never been to Dorn's before. Even bragged about how good it was. Was looking forward to having Surf & Turf. After waiting an hour to be seated, to be told they were OUT OF LOBSTER. It w...
Our first and last visit to Dorn's. It's probably a swinging spot if you're over 70, but for us fifty-year olds, it lacked any kind of vital signs. And that's not even talking 'bout the food and drink. We ordered the "house" red wine, and was told it was a merlot from a nearby winery. The serving...

We visit from Cool, Ca on a regular basis and completly agree with our neighbors in Garden Valley. We have neve had a bad meal and never leave without at least one meal at Dorns. It's been a favorite for over 40 yrs.
Iffy at best. The seared ahi was great, though the portion could have been larger for the price. The shrimp louie was awful -- the shirmp were tasteless -- and when asked, the staff said the shrimp had been in house for 'about a week' -- yecch.
Peaceful ambience; service slow, unremarkable; not particualrly friendly; good traditional Japanese home-style dishes plus good assortment of sushi; way over-priced, for yuppie wallets; not a family meal place; for couples with $$$
These folks serve the best Clam Chowder we've EVER tasted! We visit Morro Bay on a regular basis and never leave town without visiting Dorn's. It's a MUST! Highly recommended. Order the Clam Chowder! You won't be sorry!
