I visited Leroys on a Sunday night at 11pm, when everything else was closed, and now make sure to go back every time I am in town. The most memorable part of my experience was the little old cook (was he Leroy? I do not know), and the friendly staff. The chilli I ordered was great - and very cheap. ...
Lone Star, Anchorage, is no better or worse then other Lone Stars nation wide. A great meal, at a reasonable price - not to forget the atmosphere and friendly staff. Awesome steaks!
Lovely pleasant atmosphere - great menu!
Visited Alaska to see our son last August. The first place he said we had to go was Gwennie's. What a restaurant! If I could give a 10 I would. The meals were more like a feast. I'm ready for a return trip.
Great food, great place to stop and relax, eat, enjoy the area. Having just spent the morning out and about......downtown, checked out the Harley dealer across the street... and just had to stop at Gwennies for lunch. Delicious hamburgers and onion rings.... attentive service, clean place.
This is great Thai food the best in the city.
In Golden Pond all of the entrees on bar looked like they had been sitting there all day. The green beans were caked up in old sauce and sesame seeds and wilted looking. The entrees with beef and chicken stock all had a skin over them and the vegetable and meat looked old, over cooked, and unapp...

(tried for lunch) Located at the corner of Fireweed & C street, this place has an terrific outdoor dining area shielded from the street by a high fence - definately a place to go on a nice day. Many of the dishes, particularly the mousaka, appeared to have been pre-prepared in large batches and he...

We love Tempura Kitchen! The sushi selection is outstanding and they have a variety of different dinners. I don't even like Japanese food all that much, but I like this place. My husband loves the sushi. It has a warm, friendly atmosphere. We always stop here on every trip to Alaska.
Stopped by Gwennies for breakfast, and it now is on our"Things to do" list every time we hit Anchorage.George And Carol, Leavenworth Wa.98826
First of all, I never give the maximum rating on anything unless it was truly AMAZING, so that is why there are no 4 starts. That said, this is probably the best Thai food in Anchorage, and maybe the best in Alaska for that matter. They aren't kidding about the spicy part either. You tell the wai...
Gwennies is a must stop for breakfast on any trip to Anchorage. The food is great, and the portions are huge. The reindeer sausage is a real treat. One of the best values you will find for breakfast. I have recommended this restaurant to many travelers. All have thanked me for telling them abo...
Myself, and five others, had a nice lunch at this establishment on a sunny afternoon, Saturday in June 2002. I don't usually feel compelled to review or complain about food establishments... they're all different and have there pro's and con's. After receiving the bill for our lunch I was furiou...
Quiet, small, excellent
Great food, Great Beer - this place rocks!! Great place for a date! Nice atmosphere, classy place - cool people. Enjoy everyone!
Gwennies is a local favorite as well as a gathering of "walking tourists" from the finest hotels nearby. They come to feast on hearty, family-style meals: They come to view the '64 earthquake memorabilia hung throughout. Last year the public voted Gwennies the #1 place to go for a Bloody Mary. The r...
