I am always surprised at the poor reviews from people who don't sound like they'd know good food if you paid them to eat it. Or the huge amount of students and folks from Gainesville who frequent the chain restaurants that use corporate guidelines and stick to the same recipes throughout the entire menu. Most of those places you find the same thing on all their menus yet people flock to them like they are dining with Emeril himself. The food in my opinion is really not great at those chains for the most part, its not something most of us couldn't do a better job making at home. I have been eating at Northwest Grille since they opened and it is hands down my favortite restaurant, not just in Gainesville but out of many cities in Florida and elsewhere I have traveled. The portions are decent, the blue cheese grouper is excellent, and Chef Chris' homemade cheesecakes are to die for. I consider myself a good food critic and I wouldn't steer you in the wrong direction. So if your looking for a great meal and warm atmosphere Northwest Grille won't dissapoint!

My wife and I have been eating here for over 10 years. The specials never disappoint and the food is always top-quality. Recently they have switched to local vegetables which we love. The place is a little dated in terms of the look, but it does not detract from the experience. It the go to spot when we have friends or family in town.
Joe's Place is our home away from home. Comfort food at its best. Their burgers are amazing and the sandwiches are true NY style, especially the reuben! The service and management always make us feel welcome. Overall, a great family value and a local

My family has been to nw grille on numerous occasions and i can honestly state that it has always been an excellent evening. We have no problem recommending it to friends. My favorite is the bleu cheese stuffed grouper and their homemade desserts. The ambiance is a little dark sometimes, but that is the only drawback if you care about that. Service is always impeccable. Locally owned always wins out for our family!

I had been hearing about this restaurant for a while, but we live on the opposite end of town. My wife and I finally made it to Northwest Grille this past weekend. Our experience was great! This local gem is hidden off of NW 39th Ave and has some of the best seafood we've had in a long time. Our entrees were reasonably priced ($14 and $16)- we had the stuffed bleu cheese grouper and sesame crusted tuna with local vegetables of the day. For dessert we shared a homemade oreo cheesecake. The lightening was a little dim, but romantic. We will be back!

This seafood restaurant is hidden from plain view in Timber Village Shoppes on 39th Ave. Someone from their restaurant brought our business $5 gift certificates and also told us about their 9 new lunch specials priced at $7 and up. I had always gone for dinner which is always great. The specials created are always original and never repeated. A family owns it so we support these type of businesses. Plus, I hate Archer Road traffic and nonsense.
