What a wonderful, old-school Italian (with an emphasis on seafood) destination restaurant. Twin lobsters, popovers, martini flights, and the occasional priest ("Hello, Father Tony!). God, do I need to say more? The food is great, the service terrific, and the views of Rumney Marsh (especially in warm weather, when boats bob on the dock outside) are great. In the summer, try to get a table on the deck. Don't forget about karaoke days and nights in one of the two bars (one inside, one outside). I always take out-of-towners to this place. The North End is wonderful, but this place has less of a sterile corporate feel. Its great!

Went for the Prime rib last year...had to send it back. It should have never been served. THe replacement was still tough and tasteless. Tough and raw - no prime at all. The service was slow and inept. Never again.

After visiting my father's grave on Memorial Day, my mother wanted to take my sister, my neice and her 2 year old and I to the Mount Vernon. She had a coupon for a special on lobsters (which we all grew up loving as my Dad was a lobster fisherman in Maine before he moved to Somerville). We went to the Revere restaurant as it's closer to where my Dad is buried.
The only food that was served hot was the popovers. We had ordered the appetizer dish with buffalo chicken, baked potatoes with cheese and bacon, and mozzarella sticks. We opted to hold the jalepeno poppers. Both my sister and I ordered the twin baked stuffed lobster. Her bread crumb topping looked like mush (not cooked enough or too much liquid ingredients added). My bread crumb topping was dryer and cooked more thoroughly. However, when I went to get a piece of lobster it wasn't cooked at all!! It was clear. I showed the waitress and she apologized and said it must have been someone else's. (???!!)
She went over to speak to the manager. The manager did not make any attempt to come to the table and apologize or offer anything to compensate. When the manager came over after the bill was presented, he never asked how the meal was. He was there to decide how much off with the coupone my mother would receive toward the meal. I asked him what compensation he could offer for the lobster not being cooked. He completely ignored me. I asked again and he said he would take money off the bill. When he and the waitress came back with the bill he told my mom he had taken four dollars off. That was for the coupon she had (for twin lobster specials 14.99). I asked him what he did for the compensation and he asked "Was it corrected and fixed?" I said yes. He asked "and how long did it take?" Although it took about 15 minutes I said to him that's not the point. He walked away again. I'm sorry but it seems to me that most restaurants of any quality would offer either a dessert at no charge, or take off the price of a drink, anything. After being told he would take money off and do nothing is not the characteristics of a good manager. In this day and age, with the economy the way it is, I think most people feel that restraunts should be even more gracious and accomadating. I will never frequent this restaurant again and plan on publishing my review of this restaurant in several different areas.
