I live in California and have been to Monica's while working in Dallas. As all road warriors know, there are great restaurants in each city we visit. However, few come close to Monica's. I crave Monica's Black Bean Raviolis. The food is out of this world and reasonablly priced. The decor is comfortable, fun and eclectic (to go with it's deep ellum home). The service is fantastic. Monica's always makes you feel like you are special and appreciated for dining with them. Monica herself is the most guest friendly hostess / owner. I've never been there when she hasn't come out to greet each guest. Her moto is "I may sound like Ricky Ricardo but I sure can. She sure can! And to Monica, girl, I don't know how you where those high heels all day long but you do it better than most women I know. You go girl!
