I read some of the reviews online and decided I would try this place out.
First off for the Mongolian Grill... They are below average at best, variety is limited, the sauces aren't very good and with only 5 types of meat (2 beef, baby shrimp, imitation crab, chicken) I found it to not be a very good mongolian dish. I cobbled together what I could and it was far from the best mongolian.
The rest of the buffet was very limited and wasn't very tasty.
If you want some great Mongolian you may want to consider Ghengis Grill or BD's Mongolian... I don't think either of those are in Houston but both put this one to shame.
On the upside my bill was CHEAP... With a soda my meal was $9.95 after tax but before tip so if you are on a budget then this is for you but if you have $20 or more per person and a working set of tastebuds then drive by this one without stopping.

Excellent Mongolian Barbcue. The rest of the buffet leaves a bit to be desired, but the Mongolian is worth the price alone.
The food was excellent. Never over spiced. Perfect. The people and friendly and always smile. I eat there about 3- 4 times a month. Just about every weekend.
Food and service are great! Sushi always fresh and good selection. Specials are a good value. We go about once a month and have never had a bad experience.
I love this restaurant. I now live right outside Austin. I only wish we had access to good Asian cuisine here. I miss empress daily. My family thought of this place as a second home. Thank you very much. The Aikman family will always think kindly on
