I was a regular customer of this place for about five years until I was treated rudely by a waitress and a hostess. I went for lunch with a friend and ordered their oriental chicken salad which is really enough food for three people. We asked to split it and agreed to pay the split charge of $3. The waitress came back from the kitchen and said, "He won't spit it". We challenged that, saying that the menu states, "split charge $3.00". She only repeated,"Sorry, he won't split it". This, coupled with a previous altercation with the rude Asian hostess, who insisted that I pay cash, not credit card for my lunch which was under $10. The sign that used to read "No credit cards under $10.00", had disappeared a few weeks before. I told her with the tip, it will be over $10, take it or I won't pay. I happen to know that it is illegal for any merchant to have this restriction and also that credit card companies have little control over enforcing this rule, but I would say that most merchants comply.

I wrote a letter to Michaels Cafe and it was completely ignored. Neither I nor my friends patronize this dump anymore.
