a diner from Oklahoma City
I dined at the new, NW Expressway location. Easy to find, good parking. The food was good quite good, but sadly lacking in service and the knowledge of what it means to serve Italian food. No wine. (that's like a Mexican restaurant without salsa). I had the spaghetti with Italian Sausage. I asked (as I always do in Italian places) to substitute Linguine for Spaghetti...they couldn't. There were no bread sticks or Italian toast on the table as pre-dinner appetizers which is an Italian staple. I had to actually ask for Parmesan cheese! And when serving any type of string pasta, you ALWAYS provide a big spoon to "twirl" with. The atmosphere was great, unless facing the windows and then the sun blinded you, despite having shades(they don't shade well if they aren't pulled down!). Polite waiters, but they lack the understanding necessary to make it a real Italian dining experience. Most of the other people in the place were having American. My dining partner had the Calzone and was impressed, though he thought the portion was a big much. I thought my portion of Spaghetti and Linguine were small compared to other places I've eaten. If they get some wine, put some cheese, big spoons and bread on the tables, allow substitutions on the pastas, and pull down the shades when the sun is out, they'll have a first rate 3+ Stars establishment.
