REAL FARM TO TABLE RESTAURANT THIS IS NOT YOUR NORMAL RESTUARANT. iT IS A WORKING FARM WITH A WINERY AND BAR . The location has been there since the 40's. We arrived on a early summer evening.

When we entered the dining room an apprentice from the CIA (Culinary Institute of America)was cutting fresh pappardelle from sheets of pasta. In a pot on the stove of the open kitchen, we could smell the aroma of fresh tomato sauce. Balls of fresh mozzarella floated gracefully in water waiting to plucked for a Caprese Salad. When we sat, the hostess explained that the house wines were served directly from the barrels and were not bottle aged. We thought, Umm, just like the little winery in Tuscany. We ordered samples of all the wines. They were quite fresh and drinkable, just the way they were presented. Wine snobs should stick to their BYOBs. The menu is authentic yet simple and delicious. We were greeted by the matriarchs of the family. The three sisters, Costanza 82, Maria 80 and Vilma 77 told us about the special selections on the menu. LaSagna Bolognese, Osso Buco along with Tripe Stew and Fried Smelts. A real smorgasboard of Meditteranean Cousine. Espresso Coffee and Grappa finished out our visit. As we walked past the vineyard to our car we saw a herd of dairy goats that the family uses to make cheese frolicing in the pasture. I said to guest , wow we just went to Italy what an evening...-

Chef Nick Desiato has brought a new twist the traditional recipes of his family's restuarant and winery. His fish dishes are outstanding.
Created artistically and gastronimically perfect.

We've eaten here before it was Mamma D's - same owner, the whole time. My husband comes from a big Italian family full of amazing cooks, and Mamma D's is like sitting down at Nona's for Sunday dinner, and more. Mouthwatering, fun, amazing. No matter who we bring here, they always love the food, enjoy the atmosphere, and come back on their own.

I just went to a Tuscan countryside winery and ate dinner. What was great was that everybody spoke English and I didn't spend a dime on airfare.
