My wife and I stopped for drinks the evening of February 18th, 2009. It was her birthday. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very courteous, offering us a menu from which we ordered “calamari frita” (fried calamari) and a cheese appetizer. All went well until my wife pulled a long hair that was cooked into the calamari. We showed this to the bartender, who apologized, then placed the food and hair in a napkin and took it with her (we assume to the kitchen). A few minutes later a gentleman in very casual attire came to us, not to apologize or make any amends, but to say that “this is not ours because no one in the kitchen has long hair”. Mind you, the hair was cooked into the food! My wife became irate at the man’s demeanor and so did I, when he proceeded to throw the bartender under the bus, stating it was her hair in the food (wrong hair color, and still your responsibility!). He then simply walked away. Where did you learn to treat customers??? The bartender was tipped very well but we noted the insensitive demeanor from the other person on the receipt. Needless to say, we will not walk into that establishment again. We will, however, share this story with many in the Abington/Horsham area where we live and work.
